The 38 bed residential lodge is a sustainable building with heating and hot water provided by a biomass wood-chip boiler and rainwater harvested for toilet flushing.

The lodge has no painted surfaces therefore all volatile organic compounds are eliminated. Since being built in 2004, the untreated timber exterior has mellowed with age to a silvery grey whilst inside the smell of wood surrounds you.

Situated in a 6 acre field the lodge has direct access to Goblin Combes 130 acres of semi ancient woodland.

With accommodation for 38 people, this facility offers an ideal location for schools, youth and community groups of all ages and abilities and is a great base for a huge range of courses, activities, field-studies, bushcraft and team building programs.

The lodge is fully wheelchair accessible – with ramps, a lift between floors, and an adapted toilet and shower facilities.

Along with the residential lodge, you will also have exclusive use of our 18ft Mongolian Yurt and the Cottage, which is adjacent to the lodge, provides a self-catering facility with its fully equipped kitchen and dining/communal area.

Whilst staying at the lodge you are free to organise your own activities or alternatively try one of our “Bushcraft” experiences, ask member of the Goblin Combe team for details.

Affordable and available all year round the lodge is an ideal base from which to discover the natural world.
